Annapolis Oyster Roast and Sock Burning - General Admission

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday March 19

12:00 PM  –  4:00 PM

Celebrate the spring equinox and the beginning of boating season each March by burning those nasty winter socks at the Annapolis Oyster Roast & Sock Burning. In a tradition dating back to the late-1970s, Annapolitans relieve themselves of the necessities of winter as the “Burn Your Socks” is recited.

Live music is provided by popular local bands who entertain with a wide variety of musical styles. A shucking contest provides a chance to show your shucking prowess, and for the young at heart, there will be fun activities and exhibits highlighting the area’s unique maritime heritage and the importance of the oyster to the health of the Chesapeake Bay. The general admission price for adults is $40. Child admission (ages 5-12) is $10.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Annapolis Maritime Museum’s award-winning education programs. There are no discounts for this special event and all ticket sales are final. The event is rain or shine.

We are adhering to the current COVID-19 protocols and will continue to follow the guidance from our City and State officials to ensure the safety of all our guests and staff.
